“Shanghai Jewish Refugees Memories Scholarship Provided to Chinese Students Study in America ”

Shanghai Jewish Refugees Memories Scholarship

In the 1930’s and 1940’s, Shanghai took in over 30,000 Jewish refugees fleeing persecution from Europe. Though virtually all of the refugees left during the 1950’s, many of them and their descendants have not forgotten that China was one of the few countries that remained open to Jews during World War II. With the desire to give back to the Shanghai community, a scholarship will be created to provide Chinese students’ all tuition for four years of undergraduate study and for two years of graduate study in United States of America.
